December 9 Call to Prayer

by Christal Williams

The word of the day is sufficiency.

The quote of the day: The fear of inadequacy must never keep us from approaching God.

Prayer thought: Please join me in prayer today as we focus on the Sufficiency of God. I believe that God is able to do more than we can ask or think. (Ephesians 3) May we all join in an attitude of Abundance and Love.

Prayer question: I’m literally amazed when the church goes to prayer. No, not “enters,” but goes. For me, the Church has an amazing run-in with a generous Spirit of tenacity, diligence and love that overtakes individualism, self-centeredness, personal agendas, and self-will. When the church of Jesus Christ goes to prayer, there is a sense, feeling and level of expected outcome that hovers, abide and resides around our environments waiting for our expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Today, Disciples, let’s go to prayer. Let’s open our hearts, minds and spirit to the sufficiency of God. A God who is at work in the land. In the life of church, and the hearts of a creative people. Let’s align ourselves with God’s original mission – to love, engage and reconcile humanity in ways that change lives forever.

May we decide that mediocrity is not acceptable, and our witness of a God who has the power to encourage, equip and empower us in ways that are exciting, and reflective of real Kingdom equality. With joy, let’s ask God to make us ready for that which is innovative, effective and fruitful. May we as ambassadors for wholeness continue to pray, fast and turn our thoughts toward God’s will to be discerned with clarity.

If you have read this then you can realize that the Church has gone to prayer together. May you, me and all feel refreshed, relieved and even more ready for the journey.

Final thought:
The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not keep you.
